I bet you guys and gals didn't know that grammar was controversial! Yes, people actually get together and argue about grammar rules. I want you guys to listen to the Grammar Girl lesson about the top 10 grammar myths and then post some actual examples of some of these myths in use! You can copy and paste the examples from online sources or direct us to other sites that discuss these same myths!

Check Out These Books
Hello Freshies!
We have begun our independent reading unit and I want you to know about all the cool books out there. Follow this link and watch at least 5 of the author videos discussing their novels:
http://www.bookwrapcentral.com/
When you are done watching AT LEAST 5 videos, write up a brief summary of one of the books and discuss why you would/would not read the book. Then find other author videos and link us to their sites!
Good luck and happy reading!

MacKenzie's English 9 Blog
Welcome to 9th grade English! As part of your grade for this course you will be required to respond to, post, and discuss a variety of topics on this blog. Remember that all links and responses need to be school appropriate!
To begin, I would like to discuss what you think it means to be a writer. Who is a writer? Are you a writer? Please view the video on the following link and then answer the questions. You may respond to the postings of others, add links or video that pertain to the topic, or link websites that vivify this topic further.
What do you write? Why do you write what you do?
How do you write? What kind of process do you use when you write?
When is writing hard?
When is writing easy?
When is writing fun?
