I think I would read the book "Maddness" by Marya Hornbacher, because it sounds like a very powerful book and the subject isn't something I've read about before. It's about someone who's really 'mad' they can't help it and the story goes through how this person grows with this infliction and eventually prospers from it.
A book I suggest to read for others, especially girls in the class, is "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer and it's series. The author really makes you keep wanting to turn the page and find out more. And you can really relate to the characters, feel almost connected to their lives. Though the book does involve vampires, werewolves, etc. it still has a very real story behind it. Here's the author's official website: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/ check it out :)

haha love saying them
I would have read the book "After 9/11 Americas War on Terror" by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon. The book is about understanding the tragedy of 9/11. It tells what has taken place. And how we have changed in our society. I would want to read this book because, 9/11 had such an impact on our country. That date has so much meaning and impact to our lives as U.S. citizens. I think it would be nice to know what happened with details and more of what you heard on the news.
One of my favorite authors is Lauren Myracle. Here is a link to her website so you can check out some of her amazing books she has written. http://www.laurenmyracle.com/
The novel "Beautifel Boy" really stuck out to me. the author David Sheff writes about the uneasy journey of his sons addiction to meth. David had a tough time completing the book. Most authors that share stories similar to this can not write about the subject untill after the experience is over. The other obstacle Sheff faced in writing the book was a brain hemerage. Following his completion of the novel his son decided "tweak" for young adults and "Beautiful Boy's" fans. "Tweak" tell about his adiction in his own words.
go to http://www.nicsheff.com/
Than look on the right side of the page for audio podcast.
This is an interview of Nic Sheff and his father.(sad, but it renews how trully aweful drugs are)
After listening to Nics podcast myself i discovered he was diagonosed with bipolar dissorder.
If i read "Beautiful Boy" and "Tweak" my next read would possibly be "maddness"; which K.dekoster blogged about. According to her the book is about someone who is trully mad.(someone with bipolar dissorder; just like Nic.
Here are some links of other authors writing and disscusing their novels.

The book i found that was the most interesting to me was "SKIN" by Ted Dekker, i would read this book because it's about secrets people hide from, a serial killer and it's a griddy mystery book. When a serial killer comes to town and a string of murders follow in a storm, once the storm settles the bodies are revealed.
And a book i would suggest to read is "Impulse" by Ellen Hopkins. This book is really good its about three kids that have nothing in common "except age, proximity, and a wish to die, whoes lives whould have been cut short if not for the hasty interventions by loved ones. Or fate. Now they are given a second chance at a better life-if they find strength to let go of their inner demons."
Here is the link to the book its not all that but its something-

I would love to read the book Beautiful Boy by Davis Sheff. It sounds like it would be really interesting to hear about his father and his journey through his addiction. I think it would be a great book for kids to read that are struggling with drug addictions and so would the one that the son has wrote. Also... After 9/11 America's war on terror (2001-) looks powerful. It looks like it would be a great book on the harships and struggles people and just America in general have had since that day. I would definatley wanna read it. http://www.slate.com/id/2147309/ this website has the first chapter of the book and interviews with the writers. http://www.davidsheff.com/ this website is the writer of beautiful boys official website.
I would read A Long Way Gone because it's about something I don't know about and it seems good

This is the authors website I think
Sinner
This book stands out to me in that it has to do with a religion I believe in. I think that this book, some what sits differently wit me because the author talks about something that I have read about. This, I think is something it I believe is coming and is going to happen. What is a new to me is that it is a knew way of thinking about the event described in his book that tells of a heroic dead(s) that could become of the horrible conflict, because in the way that I was taught this particular event, there could and will be a hero, and it is somewhat a cool thought to find out what he thinks the hero(s) will be like.
I would like to read this book due to this site and talk.
Luke Nord.
This website holds an interview with Ted Dekker, the author of Sinner.

I watched the movie on Sinner by Ted Dekker. I think that I would not like to read this book because when he was talking about the book it didn’t seem very interesting. He didn’t really get me to feel that I could get into the book. When he talked about the book it made me feel tiered because he pretty much told me the entire book.
Stosh Kopczynski
If i were to read one of the books it would be skin. this book seems reallly interesting to me an dit seems like it would really pull a reader into the story because it is a big mystery and i think it would be very fun to read. The meaning of the title that the author talked about reall made a lot of snese to me an dit is very deep and intelectual. It is called skin because it is talking about how we all have secrets that we keep under our skin and we might not even know. I think the best books i have ever read (or at least they were my favorite) are the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan. http://www.darrenshan.com/vampires/index.html
Now these books look freaky and dark but for the people going to this site but they arent at all and my little sister wont read them because the cover is to scary.
o yea i made a new account because i forgot my password so yea this is Jordan Bargas
i would read the book "skin" by Ted Dekker because it seems interesting because that everyone is different and they hide secerts and they all are different on the inside and sometimes they would have to understand the side of good or bad. The book is intense because bunch of things happen in it because it sounds like alot of things do happen that makes it more interesting to read.

I think that the book "Maddness" is the kind of book i would be interested in. I think that I would be interested in it beacuse i love to learn about new things and that isn't a subject I have read about before. It seems interesting to try to put myself in the characters shoes and see what its like to be like them. It is a story about a girl who is bipolar and how she is compared to a "normal" human withouit these disabilities to show what its like.
A series of books i would suggest to mainly the girls would be "The Clique Series" because it is mainly about just the things that all girls go through. Fitting in, being popular, staying popular and just basic things like that. So check out her webpage!

I would have to agree with k. dekoster. I think that this would be a fun book to read because it is interesting and intense. This book "maddness" by marya Hornbacher would be a great book to read if u thought you had bipolar. Maddness could help a lot of girls out because i know that some of my friends think that they are bipolar which i know that they aren't so this book could show them the difference between like mood swings and actual bipolar. Those are some of the reasons i would choose to read "maddness" by Marya Hornbacher.
Hey!! This is Mandi Newell. I looked at the books and I saw a couple that sounded really good, like Freakonomicks by Steven Livitt and Stephen Duber, and The Way of the Wild, by John Eldredge. They look like my kind of book. LOL!!! I also saw some books that I probably would'nt read like Skin, by Ted Dikker, or Talk to the Hand by Lynn Truss. Those books just don't really appeal to me very much because they sound scary and not a very happy book. LOL!!!!!!!! I would most likely read Freakonomicks because Steven Livitt sounds funny and the description on his book sounded very good.
I was also just wondering if we have to add a website or a link about books, for everyone to see, as part of our grade? I don't really know how to do that. So if I'm suppost to, i'm sorry, and I'll try to learn soon. (I'm not a big computer person)LOL!!! I'll see you guys monday!! BYE!!!
I would have read the book "After 9/11 Americas War on Terror" by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon, because it sounds interesting and i would like to know all about what happened during 9/11 and what we did to change things. It shows what america struggled with at the time when this happened.
My favorite author is Sarah Dessen because all her books are always something interesting to read about.
Her official website is http://www.sarahdessen.com/
You should check it forsure!
Marlana Luebke :)
I would agree with justinew about how the book 9/11 would be agood book to read. I think this because I don't know much of what is going on after 9/11 and this would help me understand more of what is happening.
This link is a written summary

I would want to read the book Sinner because I have heard a lot of good things about. I have not seen the movie but it sounds fantastic. Sinner is like all the other books I read. I will not have any trouble with this book. Lil luke and I have the same taste in books and that is awsome.
Here is a website where some authors just talk about their upcoming novels or they are already out for you to buy:
http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/literacy/findresources/writerscraft/latestbook.asp
Out of all of those books, I would probably read Sinner because it sounds so interesting. I like the fact that the world could be changed at any moment, drastically. I like how you can't totally prepare for anything in this world and the book looks like it would portray it very well. I've read another one of Ted Dekker's books and they are very good (:. I think I might actually read this one and not just say that it looks good, and it might be up on my independent reading log-thing soon!
My favorite author (being recently deceased O:!) has written many of my favorite books (:
http://www.madeleinelengle.com/
I think the book Holes is one of the best movies I have ever read and the movie just as well. I would strongly reccomend this book because it takes you on an adventure. Most people have already read it. Another book I would also strongly reccomend is Hatchet. Thats also one of the best movies and books I have read as well. It teaches about survival of the wilderness. It makes you think of what can happen and how to handle it. I really enjoyed and the two books I just wrote about you shoul read.
the book that i would not like to read of these books would be The Way we Work. This book is about body parts and functions of those parts. I wouldn't be interested in this book because i am not interested in information books. Information books, to me, aren't very interesting and seem to run on for awhile.
this is a likn to another website

I wouldn't read "After 9/11 America's War on Terror" by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon because of the title to begin with. I hate to rememer that tragic day not too long ago. I feel like it would be a powerful book, but not something i'm interested in. I disagree with Justine because she favors that book over the others. It doesn't interst me. The memory of that day fills me with dread.
One of my favorite books is "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech. It's a great book about love and strength. Check out the review and see if you want to read it.

I believe i would read the book "The great a terrible beauty." I read this book over the summer and i thought is was very mysterious and very wild. It is based in the late 18'00s and in London. Its a 400 page book so, if your up to reading it be my guest.
Another book i would read is "Hatchet." I really like this book. I think that Gary Paulson is a very good author. This book can teach you so much on survial skills when your camping or out in the willderness by yourself.
I would consider reading thses wonderful books!
Sinner or Skin sound like good books. Sinner sounds interesting because it’s about how much we take for granted and how easily it can all be taken away. It always seemed wired to me how beliefs affect our world so much. Skin sounds like a intense book; a real page turner. I love it when books pick you up in the first few chapters and carries you to the end without you having to force threw a boring part. I also just plane like books about who people really are without pretending.
One of my favorite books is Abarat by Clive Braker . It’s somewhat like Alice in wonder land but weirder in it’s own little way. From dragons to sea skippers or singing shoes this book if full of wonderful and not so wonderful things and places. Each hour of the day is a island to travel to with a mysterious 25 hour my favorite being eight oh clock the hour of Obadiah. I love how he illustrated the book and the abstractness of it all. Here is the link to the web site.

I think I would read the book called Skins by Ted Dekker because the author explains what is happening in the world and how people hide secrets from others. Also how a mass murderer goes through murdering people. Then when a storm comes around the bodies of the dead people have been discovered.
The book I would recommend would be “The Clique Series.” Because its all about how And what girls go through like trying to hard to fit in with the popular groups at school, Trying to be the pretty one that knows every one. But not the ugly nerdy one so I think it would be a great book for any one to read.
i think i would read the book "madness" because its about me because i'm bipolar as well
and u can't help that it an illness
i think it would help me understand what more i will be going into because i wil jump from one chaos to another chaos and it sucks lol
and yah

the author has her own website

its a really awesome website!!! :) lol
The book I watched about was "sinner" by Ted Dekker I probably wouldn't read it because I’m not much in to religion not to offend people that are but it's mostly about god. If you where really in to religion and that stuff it would probably be a good book for you, but that’s you.

I would have read the book "After 9/11 Americas War on Terror" by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colon. This book tells the story of one of Americas worst yeatr in modern history. It is about Americas hardships and trageties. The reason I want to read this book is because that date scarred Americas history and on that date us Americans were pissed off. I know that on 9/11 every Americans heart was filled with hate. I would also like to know the whole truth on the story. This is the reason why I want to read this book.
The book I would read probably be A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. And I chose this book because it’s a book made from a real story and I think is a really good book because is from a real story that the author lived and I think that’s going to a be a good book to read because the story is about a little boy soldier, and I have heard about boy that are soldiers but never what they think about it, or how they live with it. And it would be an interesting book to read in many ways and also is going to be my first book that I have read of that subject.

i would read the book "sinner".iwopuld read this book beacusei am a christan and it sounds like a book i would be intrested in.It is something that u want to read and find out wat happens thats y i would read it
i would read the book "the way we work" because i think it would be very interesting because it talks about the human body, and how it works.
If i had to read one of them books i would read skin cause it seems like it would be very interesting
The book that I would like to read the most is The Way We Work: Getting to Know the Amazing Human Body by David Macaulay. This book is about how the body works. It starts from the smaller things such as cells, and then works it's way up to the bigger parts of the body. Macaulay went through tremendous effort to put this book together. He went to medical classes, he watched surgeries, worked with cadavers, read, and worked with experts. When he was finished he began the book. It is written in an understandable way, which is part of the reason I would read it. I also have looked through his other book, The Way Things Work. It is a very interesting book. There is also a computer game based on The Way Things Work. I used to play it a lot. He goes into a lot of detail, but it is understandable. One of my favorite authors is Carl Hiaasen. He wrote the book Hoot, which is also a movie. By the way, the book is a million times better than the movie. He also wrote Flush. Those are his two teen oriented books and they are both great books. Here is a link to his website. He has a video if you look on the right hand side of the screen. Take a look.
http://www.carlhiaasen.com/
i would read skin because it seems like an intresting book. It seems every body is different in it to.
I watched the video clip for the book, "Madness" by Marya Hornbacher. The aouther wrote an autobiography about her self and discussing the life of a bipolar person. It is said to show the difforent sides of the disease, such as what "normal" people see in it and what the people that are actually struggling with it [the "mad" people] are going threw.
This book caught my attenchion because of the name. I know not to judge a book by its cover but it intrigued me and after hearing the summery i have resulted in actually wanting to read the book. It sounds like some thing i would read just because I have a friend diagnosed with Type I rapid-cycle bipoler which just so happens to be exactly what the main charecter has in this book.
I have found a link to take you guys to that is also an authors video summary of their book...

I think i would read the book called skin because it intrigues me more than the others and its a type of story i can et into.
i would read the book theif or a good sesze of books.
I would read "A long Way Gone" by Ishmael Beah. It is about a boy whose family is killed in a war and then he is drafted by the rebels(the people who killed his family). then is picked up by the goverment and drafted on to their army.
I liked the book "skin", because I like mystery books that never really tell you anything for sure. They give you hints but you have to put them together yourself. It really makes you think and you get to paint your own picture of who did what or whats going on. Skin is cool because it suggests that the main character is guilty which is a really awsome twist.
http://www.authorviews.com/
The novel "Beautiful Boy" written by David Sheff is a book that i would and want to read. The book is about how David tries to cope and live through the fact that his son was addicted to meth. This story is unique because it was being written during the event instead of after like most writers. I can probably relate to this book because I know and care about a lot of people that are addicted to drugs and it kills me to see them doing this to themselves. It was very hard for him to finish this book due to the fact that he wouldnt know if his son would survive during this. He lived with the fact that his own son could die at anytime, broke into his home, and did meth. His own son actually wrote his own book on the experience through his eyes. The book is titled "Tweak" and describes in brutal detail of what he went through.
Some of my all time favorite books include: the "Twilight" series by Stephenie Meyer and "A walk to Remember" by Nicholas Sparks. I would recomend these books to girls in the class. The "Twilight" series is one of the best that I've ever read. Yes, it is about vampires and werewolves but it's also about love. You can really relate to the characters in the book. And "A Walk to Remember is about a younge man that gets into a lot of trouble falling for a younge christian girl that has cancer. It's tlks about him falling for her and helping her through cancer.

I would read the book "After 9/11 Americas War on Terror" by Sid Jacobsen and Ernie Colon. This book is important for me and all americans to read because it was a huge impact on american history. I want to know some more important details about the book and think that everyone else should as well. One of my favorite authors is Dr. Seuss.
